Scholarship Information for the Student
Interested in Applying for a Scholarship
 
                                    Eligibility Requirements

            Graduates of any Champaign County High School or Accelerated Educational Program who plans to pursue a career in the field of medicine are eligible to apply. Scholarships are offered only to students who are entering a field related to medicine, such as physician, nurse, radiology tech, laboratory tech, physician assistant, etc. If the applicant is not sure that their chosen field of study would qualify, they may contact Mrs. Mary Neal Miller by clicking here to email any questions..

            Recipients may reapply each year as they continue their studies.

            Scholarships are given each year on the basis of the recipients' academic standing in their class, need, motivation, extra curricular and career oriented activities.

            An interview with Board Members is an integral part of the application process. In the past few years, the Beth Brown Memorial Scholarship committee has found interviews to be very helpful in getting to know the applicants better. Upon receipt of the student's fully completed application, the board will be contacting them to schedule a place and time for the actual interview.

            Only fully completed applications will be considered.

            Scholarship Awards Range from $ 100.00 dollars to $ 2,500.00 dollars.

            Applications are available in the guidance office of each area high school or may be printed out off of this website by clicking here. The application will need to be postal mailed to: The Beth Brown Memorial Foundation, C/O Mary Neal Miller, Chairman
312 West Baird Street, Post Office Box # 647, West Liberty, Ohio 43078 U.S.A.

. Scanned applications and photos will also be accepted as email documents and may be emailed to Mrs. Mary Neal Miller at niceguycm@woh.rr.com  All incomplete applications will be disqualified, so please be sure to fully complete each application page.

           In addition to the fully completed four page application, the student will also need to arrange for three ( 3 ) letters of recommendation. These letters must be mailed directly from the student's recommenders. The student's recommender must sign the letter, insert it in his or her own envelope and send it directly to : The Beth Brown Memorial Foundation, C/O Mary Neal Miller, Chairman, 312 West Baird Street, Post Office Box # 647, West Liberty, Ohio 43078 U.S.A.

 Any letter received directly from the applicant will be disqualified.

              SAT and ACT scores and official school transcripts ( when necessary ) are also required. These items will also need to come either directly from the school guidance counselor or from the school transcript office and mailed directly to : The Beth Brown Memorial Foundation, C/O Mary Neal Miller, Chairman, 312 West Baird Street, Post Office Box # 647, West Liberty, Ohio 43078 U.S.A.

Any scores or transcripts  received directly from the applicant will be disqualified.

            Please complete and mail in the application so that it is received by the March 15th deadline. The applicant's recent photo, three letters of recommendation, ACT and SAT scores ( when necessary ) , and transcripts must also be received by March 15th.
