Eligibility Requirements
Graduates of any Champaign County High School or Accelerated
Educational Program planning to pursue a career in the field of medicine
are eligible to apply. Scholarships are offered only to students entering a
field related to medicine, specifically human health. If the
applicant is not sure if his or her chosen field of study would qualify, or
for any other questions, contact Mrs. Mary Neal Miller by clicking

Recipients may reapply each year as they continue their
studies.
We have updated this
web site to include applications for past recipients currently enrolled in
a college program.
Scholarships are given each year on the basis of the recipient’s
academic standing, need, motivation, extracurricular and career oriented
activities.
An interview with Board Members is an integral part of the
application process. The Beth Brown Memorial Scholarship committee has
determined interviews to be very helpful in getting to know the applicants.
Upon receipt of the student's fully completed application, the board will
schedule a place and time for the interview.
Scholarship Awards range from $100 to $2,500.
Applications are available in the guidance office of each area
high school or may be printed out off of this website by clicking here.

Scanned applications and photos will also be accepted as email

Incomplete applications will be disqualified, so please be sure
to fully complete each application page.
In addition to the application, three (3) letters of
recommendation are required. These letters must be mailed directly from
the student's recommenders. The student's recommender must sign the letter,
insert it in his or her own envelope and send it directly to:

Any letter
received directly from the applicant will be disqualified.
SAT and/or ACT scores and official
school transcripts are required. These items will also need to come
either directly from the school guidance counselor or from the school
transcript office and mailed directly to:

Any scores or transcripts received directly from the
applicant will be disqualified.
Please complete and mail in the application so that it is
received by the March 15th deadline. The applicant's recent photo, three
letters of recommendation, ACT and/or SAT scores, and transcripts
must also be received by March 15th.
